How I use a beauty blender to apply powder foundation

Recently I have been using a beauty blender to apply my powder foundation. It has been working really well for me. The result is a light feeling base that still lasts all day. It works so well in fact that I decided to make a video to show you how I do it!

If you prefer to watch on youtube click HERE.

My mom gave me this beauty blender to try with my bb cream, but I like my silicone sponge better for that. I'm not sure what made me think of it, but I decided to try the beauty blender with my powder foundation and boy was I surprised! All I do is roll the beauty blender in the foundation, then roll it on my face taking care not to drag it so that I don't pull my skin to much. I also like the curve of it because I can easily add more coverage to other spots without it being blotchy.

Thats pretty much it, have a great week!

Gingersnap Body Scrub DIY

HEY! I did another video! This week I made a gingersnap body scrub. Gingersnaps are my favorite cookies to make and to eat this time of year and I love to make sugar cookie body scrubs so I thought why not use molasses and make gingersnap body scrubs! I also figured the spices would be a bit warming this time of year too. You can use essential oils instead of the spices, but I felt like keeping it simple and making a recipe that pretty much anyone can make without buying anything special. I used sugar for this scrub (duh, cookies! am I right?) and I used coconut oil and almond oil for the moisturizer. I wanted to use coconut oil because I wanted that rich fattiness to kind of mimic butter without, you know, using butter. Anyway this is such a fun recipe because I felt like I was making cookies but unlike cookies this will last longer. Wouldn't this make such a cute gift pared with some homemade gingersnap cookies? If you would rather watch the video on youtube you can easily click the link HERE.

Ingreadiants:
1 cup sugar
1 cup brown sugar (or 1 cup white with 2 Tbsp molasses)
1/2 cup melted coconut oil
1/2 cup liquid oil (such as almond)
1 tsp vanilla
2 tsp ginger, ground
2 tsp pumpkin pie spice (or mix of cinnamon, nutmeg, clove, and allspice)
*optional body wash/liquid body soap, 1 tsp to 1 tbsp

Directions:
Mix all ingredients and store in an airtight container.
This also works well as a lip scrub just make sure you don't put any soap in it if you use it for that. You can  use just coconut oil and use a little extra to make tubes of lip scrub also. Maybe I should make a video on that.

I've been posting lots of videos and I have a whole bunch more in the works so if you want to keep updated subscribe via email on the side -> or you can also subscribe to my youtube channel, that button is on the side to or just use THIS LINK.

Natural beauty on a budget

Hey! So I've got a new video up. I'm trying some new things out, I'm not sure if I like the song or the Instagram filtered look, but hopefully I'll  keep it up and make some more. I've got a few ideas such as a lipstick diy, and maybe a lip gloss recipe. As I'm writing this my husband is sitting next to me burning a beeswax candle that he just made by squishing it together... He left the match in it and so now it smells like honey and burning hair. I guess he can't ever complain about my diy's haha!

This video features four products that I have been using regularly for a while now. I like them all quite a lot because they all work well for my sensitive skin and nose. My skin can get irritated pretty easily, and my nose can smell everything to an unpleasant extent, like the smell of dust irritates my nose, it's lame.

Let me know what you think, please don't tell me about that annoying blotch I realized it after it was uploaded, can any of you tell? feel free to complain with me, just not at me haha! Anyway just watch the video I guess. (wow I really need to get better at this, don't I?)

Ok, so my favorite thing is for sure the Buddha butter. Ohmygoodness it is wonderful! I like all the other stuff, but they are just practical things, Buddha butter feels like a luxury. Like a mini spa, a small moment of indulgence. Can you tell that I'm obsessed? even when I was in humid Florida this stuff was essential. It is never to oily for me, and it always works just the way you want a body butter to work. I don't think I have anything interesting to add about the other products so I'm going to end this now and go get ready for bed. Have a great week everyone and happy thanksgiving!

100%pure Vitamin C Serum review

I've been wanting to try a vitamin c serum for awhile now, and thanks to my mother I've been using 100% pure's vitamin c serum since Christmas.
100% pure vitamin c serum
It has a very nice consistency, it feels similar to aloe, and it does have it in it which is nice instead of it having glycerin as the main carrier, which I'm not that big of a fan of using on my face. Aloe works much better on my face than glycerin and I've noticed everything soaks in better with the aloe than with products I've used with glycerin. A lot of vitamin c serums I've seen have glycerin in them so I haven't wanted to try those. This one doesn't have glycerin until the very end of the ingredients, which is kind of weird but I haven't had any problems with my skin getting all weird from it like I've had with other products, so it must not be enough to effect it. The pump works pretty good too, I've never had a problem with 100% pure's bottles not working. The only thing is that it isn't glass like a lot of their other products. It's not a big deal, I just like glass better.

Vitamin c serum is supposed to boost collagen production, brighten the skin tone, and stimulate cell renewal. I haven't really noticed any changes in collagen, but then again I haven't had a problem with that yet and I do take a collagen supplement so anyway on to the parts that I have noticed. So far my skin tone has gotten more even especially where I still have skin discoloration from being pregnant. Vitamin c serum is much gentler than using something like lemon juice to lighten your skin, and it seams to even it out better than just lightening it which I really like since I don't want the rest of my skin to lighten, just the scars and the "mask of pregnancy" around my mouth. It got rid of several scars, but the one I was really wanting it to take care of was a larger one on my cheek. It got rid of that one within just a couple of days. Another thing that I've really liked about it is that since my skin is combination, both a more oily T spot and my cheeks and jawline getting really dry especially when I'm stressed, it has helped keep the dead skin that dosn't like to come off easily on my cheeks and jaw from sticking. By sticking, I mean even with harsher scrubs (that I'm not very fond of for many reasons) it just dosn't like to come off. So I end up with layers of dead skin making it even harder to get those spots to get moisturized and happy. It seams to have helped with redness as well, but not as much ass the brightening serum did. (I'll do a review on this one later.) I tend to get bumps of skin (kind of like little skin tags) around my eyes that I usually get rid of with lavender oil, but the vitamin c serum has taken care of those without me needing to add lavender. I don't usually put much around or on my eyes so I hadn't been using the serum on or around them, but once I got a couple of little bumps I decided to try it out and I didn't have any irritation and it got rid of them within a few days. Not quite as fast as the lavender oil, but I didn't need to add one more step to my routine which was nice.

Other than that the only other things is that the smell is nice. It's very mild with no added fragrance. It is also very easy on my sensitive skin. My skin has a tendency to get red and irritated by anything that it dosn't like, and I haven't had a problem with this serum at all. I've been using it for a month now and haven't even used 1/3 of the bottle so even though it's one of the more expensive things that I use on my skin it ends up not being to much with it lasting so long. Also since it is a vitamin c serum it's very shelf stable so I don't need to worry about it going bad. Over all I am extremely satisfied with this serum. I've never used it by itself, I've only used it without a moisturizer a couple of times, and even though it was alright, my skin felt better using a. moisturizer.

If you liked this post and want to get them directly to you, you can put your email in the subscription bow over on the side and you will get an email every time I do a new post.

Coconut honey face wash and mask

One of my favorite things to wash my face with lately is a mixture of 4 tbsp of coconut oil mixed with 4 tbsp of raw honey and a pinch of vanilla powder. The coconut oil and honey bolth even out skin tone, moisturize, are antibacterial, and very healing. This also works  as a mild  scrub because of the vanilla powder.

When I'm ready to make a new batch I soften up my 4 Tbsp of coconut oil first. Once its a creamy consistency I whisk in the 4 Tbsp of honey. Then I take a heavy Pinch of Vanilla powder and mix it in.

Other optional add ins are cinnamon, wild tumeric (culinary tumeric is fine too, it just isnt as healing and it has a tendancy to add color instead of even it like the wild,) and ground oats. Powdered herbs such as lavender, roses, calendula, and holy basil are nice options too.

When I wash my face I like to wash it with just warm water first and I pat it dry until it is just damp. Its easier to apply with damp, warm skin. Then I use about 2 tsp and spread it around my face. I let it sit for 5-20 minutes, depending on if I forget about it, and if I don't have much time I will just go ahead and wash it off. When I'm ready to wash it off I take a warm washcloth and gently rub my face with it in circular motions. Then I rinse my washcloth and wipe off the rest. A splash of water, a gentle towl drying, and moisturizing with a few drops of jojoba oil and one drop of seabuckthorn oil is all I need to finish off my skincare for the evening.
